                                      _{kori let out a GROAN as she slowly came to. her head THROBBED and every breath she took ONLY seemed to amplify it. whatever they had been drinking last night, it CERTAINLY had been strong, strong enough to leave her FEELING like she’d been hit by one of those trucks.} 

                                      _{she curled up in bed, HIDING her head in the nook of dick’s shoulder before LETTING out  a sigh and SITTING UP. hiding from the sun would only make her feel WORSE. the only way to make this hangover better was to step OUTSIDE.} 

                                      _{she grabbed her ROBE and tied it loosely, opening the door slightly and STEPPING out into the SUNSHINE. she winced initially but, after a minute, she began FEELING better. she stood there for a moment, just taking in the LIGHT, before noticing how it strangely seemed to bounce BACK in front of her hand.} 

                                      _{it took a minute for her EYES to find the ring, large and beautiful and SHINING in the sunlight. she BEGAN to vaguely recall memories of the prior night, RECALLED dick proposing and her changing into a white sundress for the OCCASION.}

                                      _{x’hal, they got married last night.} 

                                      _{she blinked for a few SECONDS, processing the information before taking TWO big steps back INSIDE. she shut the door and turned to face the bed, CATCHING sight of an awakening dick.} 

                                      _{❛ richard … ❜ she began SLOWLY, taking a seat on the edge of the bed, ❛ what do you remember about last night??? ❜}

_{It was said that the auditory complex of a Dolphin’s brain were so developed that they could hear the nervous, yet exhilarated beating of the two’s hearts and that their ALTRUISTIC nature might have inspired the animals to follow the pair until the affliction of unrequited love had been CURED.. The Angels of the Sea weren’t as meddlesome as dogs, but Agent 37 already had two of his wishes granted, the only one left was time ALONE with the effulgent Tamaranean.  Dick leaned in and gave Kori ANOTHER kiss on the lips because he owed her at least several hundreds of those, before grabbing her hand and tugging her back to the boat.}

_{Assured that the alien would follow, Dick broke off the embrace so that he could swim back, offering Kori a glimpse of what drove the world MAD, Dick Grayson’s hypnotically defined back, just waiting to have one’s nails drag across it and fleshy rear, which cottoned briefs fought VALIANTLY to cover up, it was the true hero here.  The inner COMPETITOR in Dick came out as he cried out in between strokes.}

                                      _{kori lagged BEHIND for a second, simply letting herself WATCH the spy swim back towards the boat, eyes TRACING the muscles of his back. there was a small, SIMPLE, happy smile on her face, left from their REUNION, though it quickly tugged into one of her RARE smirks.} 

                                      _{a dolphin floated NEXT to her, making a few noises of APPRECIATION. it awakened her from her THOUGHT bubble long enough for her to get READY to race, ❛ i am on my way!!! ❜}

                                      _{eyes focusing on the TARGET, she recalled the way she had observed the FISH at the aquarium RACING. she lowered herself into the water and shot off TOWARDS the boat. she slowed DOWN once they were side by side, taking ANOTHER few appreciative glances before speeding up AGAIN. she did want to WIN, after all.} 

                                      _{she submerged herself FURTHER into the water, hands reaching out for the BOAT. the second her FINGERTIPS brushed it’s surface, she popped out of the WATER, drops of it clinging to the TOPS of her eyelashes, ❛ surprise!!! does this MEAN that i won? ❜}

RICHARD.

Such sugary words could serve as the PERFECT ELIXER to a lonely soul.  Orange and light-tan were so close to each other that they could practically feel each other’s heartbeat, both DANCING in unison to the same brisk tango.

The spy whispered his masculine insecurities against the alien princess’s lips, but now that they had each other, he was scared, anxious to know what the FUTURE would bring for them.  Deep down, he knew that a super spy would make a TERRIBLE partner, but the hopeless romantic in Dich believed his LOVE for the Tamaranaean had, in fact, been eternal, with his feelings over the past years laingdormant.   Finally, his eyes took an inventory of their surroundings, as  TENDER as their embrace was, the surface would fare much better, or would it?  Pressing another kiss to her lips, this one much shorter as it served as a preamble to his question.

❝ Should we take THIS somewhere a little more private, away from the two dolphins that are staring at us?❞

                                      _{kori couldn’t HELP the wide smile that spread across her lips as she was KISSING him. for so long, THIS had been what she wanted, for so long, she’d just WANTED for them to be together again. and, even though part of her was a little NERVOUS ( given that they had broken up once before ), she REFUSED to let that EMOTION control her. they were together again and all that she could feel was JOY.} 

                                      _{❛ i was CONCERNED that, if i voiced my feelings, it might SCARE you. ❜}

                                      _{she broke away from the kiss for a MOMENT, casting a glance at the dolphins, talking AMONGST themselves as they watched them. words must travel fast among the dolphins. i don’t recall telling these my dilemma. she OFFERED them an excited grin but got the sense that they WOULD NOT be moving anytime soon.} 

                                      _{❛ perhaps we should RETURN to dry land … i do not THINK that they wish to leave. ❜}

RICHARD.

His heart did a quadruple back-flip out of JOY upon realizing that the leap of FAITH he took, brought him to paradise.  It was as if their lips were pieces to a puzzle and when they connected, the world was greeted with the BEAUTIFUL picture that was Dick and Kori’s amorous embrace.  The LOOK on his face when she pulled away echoed that of a child running down the stairs on Christmas morning.  His chest felt the SAME way too.

❝ Really? The fact that I agreed to drop EVERYTHING and meet you here.  Jump into the water in ONLY my underwear didn’t clue you in..❞ 

Words slowly BLOSSOMED into blissful laughter as relief flowed through his body.  The LOVE that he felt for the Tamaranean which hung over his neck like an anchor dragging him down, now lifted his spirit to EXTRAORDINARY heights.  Dick brought his drenched fingers to her cheek and began stroking the softness of her skin.

1. Teach her something about Earth. Kori really wants to learn more about the planet and is, obviously, very interested in it’s many cultures. Tell her about a country that you went to or offer her some food from your muse’s native country. It will make her excited. 

2. Ask her for help. She’s a very helpful soul so she’ll be all over your muse. Kori is a mom at heart (I think) so she likes helping people obviously. 

3. ASK HER ABOUT TAMARAN. That’s a big one. She loves her planet so much. Only thing is that she will not stop talking about it and your muse will be there. For a very long time. 

4. Alternatively, hurt her or someone she cares about, and you will invoke her wrath which, if you want to do, should be fun! Maybe not for your muse…  

RICHARD.

It was AMAZING how their afternoon was turned on its heel, one second Kori was PLAYFULLY tugging Dick through the ocean, the next, neither could whisper a word without adding TENSION.  The battle RAGED within himself as to whether he should tell Starfire how he felt, practically handing his HEART to her, or come up with a lie in an attempt to PROTECT them both from the eventual heartbreak.  Yet, the MOMENT Dick caught sight of her beautiful green eyes, his heart spoke for him.

   ❝ No…..no I don’t.  I know you don’t want to hear THIS Kori, but the MOMENT you kissed me back at the dock several weeks ago.  Was the moment I realized what a FOOL I had been, for keeping myself away from the woman that I LOVE.. ❞

The WORRY in his voice was a far-cry from the usual flamboyant demeanor, he carried himself with. Despite feeling the OBVIOUS anxiety that came with proclaiming one’s LOVE for someone before knowing for sure those feelings were MUTUAL, there was something…CATHARTIC about finally getting it off his chest since he reunited with Kori.  Even if the Tamaranean BROKE his heart, he could, at least, be content on the fact that he held NOTHING back from her.  His fragility and sincerity were EVIDENT in how he looked at her.

  ❝ I know you just wanted to have FUN today and I’m sorry, but I’ve done ENOUGH lying to people over the past few months.  I had to tell you the TRUTH.. ❞ 

                                      _{as soon as the WORDS left his lips, kori’s heartbeat seemed to SPEED up. she had never DREAMED, never dared to even think, that he might feel the SAME way as her. after all, they had been APART for so long and dick had seemed so INTENT on moving on. she briefly wondered if it was a JOKE, if it was some cruel TRICK being played on her but those doubts were WASHED away the second her eyes locked with his. he MEANT it, his feelings were SINCERE, real. he really, truly loved her.} 

                                      _{and that was all of the ENCOURAGEMENT she needed. all of the fear that she had FELT only a few MOMENTS ago completely disappeared, he felt the same and she wasn’t about to let him WALK out of her LIFE again.} 

                                      _{she CLOSED the distance between them, putting her lips to his, CONVEYING her matching FEELINGS for him through the kiss. it felt like she had been WAITING for this moment for years and there were no words, in any LANGUAGE, that could properly express the LOVE she felt for him.} 

                                      _{❛ i have been feeling the same way ever SINCE we met again but i thought that you wanted to MOVE ON. i am very glad that i was WRONG about that. ❜}

RICHARD.

Dick was taken back by Kori’s sudden shift in TONE, words that were previously laced with sweetness were replaced with cold INDIFFERENCE. He couldn’t even be met with her alluring emerald orbs.  Had he done something wrong?  His heart sank as Grayson immediately picked up on what TROUBLED the Tamaranean.  It was the implication that Dick selfishly wanted to turn this platonic get-together into a date. Tiger was right, Dick Grayson was an IDIOT.

❝ Kori, I’m SORRY that I said this was a date, it just slipped out…❞ 

Putting his hands on her shoulders, Grayson was determined to make this right. To go back to where things were several minutes ago, not years.  As much as it PAINED him, maybe he needed to verbalize his concession towards pursuing any type of romantic relationship with her.  Now it was his turn to look away, eyes studying the water beneath them, he spoke as though he was delivering a EULOGY.  Which in many ways he was.

 ❝ You said it yourself that we need to move FORWARD and I keep trying to pull you back.  Some friend..huh? ❞

                                      _{her LINGERING feelings were extremely frustrating. they hadn’t been a together for years and for the longest time, kori was convinced that dick had died. those events ALONE should have been enough to SQUANDER any remaining feelings that she had left for him                                                                         and she thought that they had but, instead, it looked as if the affection, the love that she felt for him went DORMANT, only to be AWAKENED by his reappearance in her life.} 

                                      _{and she didn’t know if she liked it, if she LIKED the fact that she was still feeling the same sort of COMPASSION for him that she had when she was younger. when they had broken up, her world had been leveled, only for it to suffer the same sort of devastation when news of his death REACHED her. everything she felt, every single EMOTION seemed heightened, and she didn’t know if she wanted to feel that sort of tenderness for him if nothing was going to come of it. she didn’t want to suffer the WRECKAGE of him walking out of her life again.}

                                      _{kori never liked saying GOODBYE. everything about the affair was bittersweet and the sensation was not one that she particularly enjoyed. however, she never went out of her way to AVOID goodbyes. they were a NECESSARY evil, especially given that dick was a super spy and she was never sure if their goodbye was a temporary or a permanent one.} 

                                      _{even so, she wasn’t expecting the KISS that he gave her right before leaving. all of their PARTING kisses had been charged but none had been quite as charged as this one. it wasn’t desperate, there wasn’t anything somber behind it, just LOVE and the feeling prompted her to returning it with just as much emotion.}
